BOB, 37 Years Young
On this day in 1972, the Boyd Orr Building (BOB) was inaugurated by Sir Eric Ashby, a botanist and Master of Clare College, Cambridge.
I’ve featured BOB quite a few times on this blog, so what’s one more? This is actually the first picture of the entire building I’ve featured, which might be behind some of the reasoning behind the fact that at the time of writing the Boyd Orr Building is leading October’s poll, asking which is the nicest building at Glasgow University. Go figure.
More “On This Day” entries can be found on Glasgow University Story website at universitystory.gla.ac.uk maintained by the Archive Services. Information also from University Story site.
