The Square
Well, it’s more of a rectangle, isn’t it? Anywho, formerly known as the Professors’ Square, The Square lies to the west of the Gilbert Scott Building (aka the Main Building) and the Chapel. Prior to the completion of the Memorial Chapel in 1929, the western side of the Main Building was open between Bute Hall, the West Quadrangle and The Square. The house to the right-hand side of the of The Square, standing by itself, is the Principal’s Lodging.
