Professors’ Square and Stair Building
Taken from the shadow of the Memorial Chapel, here’s another view of The Square and a glimpse at the Stair Building. The Stair Building, which houses the School of Law, is located at numbers 5 though 9 at The Square. Why is it called the Stair Building? After a graduate of the University from the 1600s (not because of actual stairs), but more on that when I have a better photo of the building itself.
I can kinda understand renaming Professors’ Square to just The Square after the professors moved out, but I really do much prefer the name “Professors’ Square”, even if there are no professors living there. Maybe I’ll just start calling it that from now on and see if it catches on.
