Although not situated right in the centre of the city like several of Glasgow’s other Universities, such as the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University, the University of Glasgow is still a city-based University. The University benefits from this slight distance from the city centre by giving students a better campus-feel, partially surrounded by Kelvingrove Park, yet still right next to the bustling Byres Road. Just to give you an idea of the proximity of the University to the city centre, here’s a sign on University Avenue.
