Byres Road Bubble
There’s a concept in Glasgow called the “Byres Road Bubble” or the “West End Bubble”, which affects a number of students at the University of Glasgow, particularly students from outwith Glasgow and even outwith the UK. Due to the University’s location in the West End of Glasgow, many students spend most of their time in the West End, many living in the West End for the entire duration of their studies. This makes the West End an interesting mixture of newly-rich Glaswegians and relatively poor students.
There is a wider city and a beautiful country outside the West End, I strongly recommended those students living in the West End Bubble around Byres Road take the time to go see more of Scotland before their brief time at University is over.
