Remember the photo of the protest which I presented on Tuesday? This photo shows the aftermath of the anti-war, anti-Israeli occupation of Gaza protest. A significant number of the protesters ran and occupied the nearest building, the Sir Alwyn Williams Building (also known as the SAW Building), and presented their demands to the Principal. For the record, the SAW Building contains the Department of Computer Sciences and its classes and lecture halls, which led to Computer Sciences students launching their own counter-protest campaigns against the occupiers of their building.
Oh, and it wasn’t just Glasgow University that experienced these student occupations, as a few dozen other Universities were subject to the same experience, with the occupations lasting a few hours to over a month.
