Your University, One Photo at a Time

QMU Autumn By-Election 2010

QMU Autumn By-Election 2010Just like with the SRC elections a few weeks back, the Queen Margaret Union’s autumn elections were hampered by bad weather (rain this time) and there weren’t many candidates outside campaigning. Also, unlike the SRC elections, where voting takes place online, accessible from any computer, the QMU’s election is still handled by physical ballots, filled in with a pen and dropped into a ballot box (see above). This probably has a detrimental effect on voter turnout, especially on rainy days. It’s about time the unions switched to online voting too.
