Your University, One Photo at a Time

1 Snow Gardens

1 Snow GardensThis December is looking to be the coldest in recorded history. Speaking of which, History has been taught at the University of Glasgow since 1897, when the Chair in History was established (which is a lot later than I originally thought, but that’s what the History Department website says). It’s currently housed at 1 University Gardens, pictured above, and judging by the engraving at the very top (which I’ve never seen before), the building is almost as old. It’s been the home of the History Department since 1932, when the Queen Margaret Union moved across to the street to the John McIntyre Building.
